The BME280 is a 3-in-1 environmental sensor capable of measuring temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure using a single module.

The module supports both I2C and SPI communication, allowing easy integration with microcontrollers and single-board computers. This 5 V module can be used with 3.3 V or 5 V systems thanks to its integrated level conversion.

It is suitable for environmental monitoring, weather stations, altimeters, automation, home automation, robotics and IoT projects.

I2C Communication

In I2C mode, the module uses:

SDO/ADDR I2C address selection
CS Interface selection

The I2C address can be set to 0x76 or 0x77, depending on the address pin state.

SPI Communication

The module also supports SPI communication using:

  • MISO – data output
  • SCK – clock
  • CS – chip select

The BME280 sensor supports 3-wire and 4-wire SPI, with speeds up to 10 MHz.
